John Werst
John married Deborah Randall in 1987 and they've been blessed with four wonderful children: Nathan, Emily, Stephanie and Andrew. John served from 1991-2003 as both co-pastor and later Senior Pastor of Valley View Community Church in Columbia, MO. John and his family moved to Vancouver, WA in August 2003 in order to complete graduate theological training at Western Seminary and to assist in church planting opportunites in the Pacific NW region. A passionate communicator of Biblical truth, John loves to challenge his audience in a culturally relevant way. John works part-time for Great Commission Ministries, with a focus on spiritual formation and intentional disciple-making in the local church. John has a background in state government and was the chaplain for the Missouri Tigers football team for four years under Coach Larry Smith's tenure. John leads the TGIW group at Western Seminary. John enjoys time with his family, deer hunting, trout fishing and good movies.
